I keep hearing about pickle salsa and how amazing it but living in my small town I can’t just easily go out and buy things and duh, making it homemade sounds better anyways! I happened to have all the ingredients and in 10 minutes I had THE most amazing salsa that is so perfect on its own or topped on burgers. Trust me, you will be making this all season!

Let’s get started!

Are you a dill pickle lover looking for a unique and refreshing way to enjoy your favorite tangy snack? Say hello to Dill Pickle Salsa! This delightful concoction combines the bold flavors of dill pickles with fresh veggies, making it a perfect dip for chips, a topping for grilled meats, or even a unique addition to your favorite sandwiches. Let’s dive into this easy and delicious recipe that’s sure to become a staple at your gatherings!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup diced pickles (2-3 pickles)
  • 1 diced cucumber
  • 1 tomato, seeded and diced
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 jalapeno, or more if desired, diced
  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or tsp of dried
  • 1/4 cup pickle brine, from the pickle jar
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions:

Step 1: Start by dicing up all your vegetables.  I like to dice mine into very small pieces using my chopper as it has the perfect attachments for small pieces, but you can make yours a little chunkier if you like too!

Step 2: Add the diced pickles, cucumber, tomato, red onion, jalapeno and minced garlic.

Step 3: Next, add in your fresh dill, pickle brine and pepper.

Step 4: Mix everything together well and season with salt to taste! Dip with corn chips, a side dish or a topping for burgers, tacos and more!

Why Dill Pickle Salsa?

Dill Pickle Salsa is a refreshing and unexpected twist on traditional salsa. The dill pickles add a unique tangy flavor, while the fresh vegetables and lime juice give it a bright and zesty taste. It’s a perfect choice for pickle enthusiasts and anyone looking to try something new and exciting.

Tips and Variations:

  • Adjust the Heat: If you love spicy food, keep the seeds in the jalapeño or add a splash of hot sauce.
  • Sweet Twist: Add a small amount of chopped pineapple or mango for a sweet and tangy contrast.
  • Herb Alternatives: If you’re not a fan of cilantro, try using fresh dill or parsley for a different herbaceous flavor.
  • Make It Your Own: Experiment with additional ingredients like chopped bell peppers, cucumbers, or olives for added texture and flavor.

I had only moved there 3 months prior to start over and really find myself. I had this random idea pop into my head to start a business, I was going to teach myself how to paint, create handmade items and sell them locally. I put zero thought into the name and decided to call my business “The Sassy Barn”.

10 years later, The Sassy Barn has surpassed my dreams. To our customers, retailers and my family and friends (who would buy from the trunk of my car at family reunions 😂), I can’t thank you enough for your business and support. I can’t wait to see what else this journey holds ❤️
