Apple crisp was one of the first desserts I learned to make when I first lived on my own. I still have the original recipe that I have no since tweaked.
I made this apple crisp with a granola topping instead of oats and will share both topping variations with you!
Let’s get started!
Prep Time15 minutes
Cook Time55 minutes
Total Time1 hour10 minutes
3 honey crisp apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/4 c sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
Granola Topping (first topping option)
1 cup granola
3 T butter
Oats Topping (second topping option)
3/4 c old fashionedOats
3/4 c flour
4 T butter
1/2 c brownsugar
Pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 350. Peel, core and cut your apples and place in a bowl. Add in the 1/2 cups of sugar and brown sugar and the teaspoon each of cinnamon and cloves. Mix well and put in a greased casserole dish or pie dish.
If you are using the granola topping choice cut 3 tablespoons of butter into the 1 cup of granola and place over top of the apples.
If you are using the oats topping, mix the oats, flour, butter, brown sugar and salt together and place over top of the apples.
