Shrimp Hibachi Bowls
Hibachi is my jam! We love hours away from one so doing this easy peasy meal at home fills that void of missing hibachi! If you don’t care for shrimp switch it up with chicken or steak!
I like Trader Joe’s 5 minute fried rice if I’m in a hurry but I love making my own fried rice and my recipe is linked here.
Let’s get started!

Total Time

Ingredients
- 1 lb cooked or raw shrimp, fresh or frozen and thawed
- 1 medium zucchini, sliced
- 1 small white onion, sliced
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 c mayo
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- a few dashes siracha or hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Let’s make the yum yum sauce by mixing together the mayo, ketchup, garlic powder, soy sauce, and hot sauce or siracha (if using) in a bowl. Set aside in the fridge until ready to serve.
- To a pan add the butter and add the onion and zucchini. Saute for about 4-5 minutes until the onion is translucent and the zucchini is softened. Add the soy sauce and cook until the sauce is mostly evaporated. Add in the shrimp and sauté for 4-5 minutes until pink.
- If you are making your own fried rice get that prepared and cooked at the same time you’re cooking the onions and zucchini so they finish at the same time.
- In a bowl add the fried rice and top with shrimp, onions and zucchini. Drizzle the yum yum sauce on top and enjoy! Garnish with sesame seeds if you’d like!
