I honestly don’t know why I never made this sooner. Pickles and a cheese sauce just go together, and this would be so perfect for your next taco night or if you’re doing a fun nacho board. I had some soft pretzels on hand, and it turned out perfect. This is such an easy cheese sauce to do and if you are not into pickles, you can leave the pickles out and just have a regular cheese sauce!

Let’s get started!

Are you ready to elevate your culinary creations with a tangy, creamy delight that will leave your taste buds dancing? Introducing the Pickle Cheese Sauce – a fusion of zesty pickles and rich cheese that will become your new go-to condiment. Perfect for drizzling over nachos, dipping fries, or adding a flavorful punch to sandwiches, this sauce is incredibly versatile and easy to make. Let’s dive into the recipe and discover how you can whip up this mouthwatering sauce in no time.

Ingredients

To make this delightful Pickle Cheese Sauce, you will need:

  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (shred it yourself!)
  • 2 T cornstarch
  • 1.5 cans evaporated milk (12 oz)
  • Chopped dill pickles
  • Splash of dill pickle juice
  • 1 tsp dry dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. First Steps: Mix the cornstarch and milk together.
  2. Crockpot: To a crockpot add the cheese, milk and cornstarch, chopped dill pickles, pickle juice and dried dill.
  3. Mix & Cook: Mix well and cook on low heat for 2-3 hours. Stir through out.If you are using a pot to cook on the stove, combine the gradients as above and cook on low heat. Do not let simmer.
  4. More Chopped Pickles: Once all combined and melted, top with more chopped pickles.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Once the sauce is smooth and well combined, remove it from the heat. Serve the Pickle Cheese Sauce warm, drizzled over your favorite dishes or as a dip.

Serving Suggestions

The Pickle Cheese Sauce is incredibly versatile and can be used in a variety of dishes. Here are some delicious ideas to get you started:

  • Nachos: Drizzle the sauce over a bed of tortilla chips topped with jalapeños, olives, and diced tomatoes for a tangy twist on classic nachos.
  • Burgers: Add a generous dollop of Pickle Cheese Sauce to your burger for an extra layer of flavor.
  • Fries: Use the sauce as a dip for French fries or onion rings – a perfect match!
  • Pretzels: Serve it as a dipping sauce for soft pretzels at your next gathering.
  • Vegetables: Drizzle the sauce over steamed or roasted vegetables to make them more exciting and flavorful.

Tips and Variations

  • Spice It Up: For a spicy kick, add some chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the sauce.
  • Vegan Option: Substitute the dairy ingredients with vegan alternatives like plant-based cheese and milk.
  • Consistency: If the sauce is too thick, add a little more milk to reach your desired consistency. If it’s too thin, let it simmer a bit longer to thicken up.
