You’re probably thinking to yourself… grilled?! Yup! GRILLED! Grilled lemonade has been one of my favorite ways to make lemonade every summer for years now! The sugar caramelizes perfectly from the heat and adds a touchy of a sweet smoky flavor.
Note: you can skip the grilled part and still make delicious lemonade!
Let’s get started!!

Ingredients
- 8 lemons, halved
- 7 cups water, divided
- 2 cups sugar, divided
Directions
- Start by making your simple syrup. In a sauce pan, add in 2 cups of water and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Let it simmer and the sugar melt. Turn off the heat and let cool.
- Fire up the grill to medium heat. Take 1 cup of sugar and place in a bowl. Take your lemons and dip each half into the sugar making sure they get coated. Place your lemons on the grill, sugar side down for 5-6 minutes.
- Take the lemons off the grill and juice into a large pitcher. Fill the pitcher with the simple syrup and 5 cups of water. Give it a stir, fill a glass with ice and enjoy!

I have linked my electronic juicer for you!
Note! Simple syrup is something I keep on hand to have for sweet tea or other drinks. You can make a large batch to keep on the fridge!

Does this recipe also work with lemons that are not grilled? Looking for a good homemade old fashionlemonade 💕
Thank you
