I love pickles, particularly dill! I love them and love taking the flavor to incorporate into other dishes. Making crispy chicken wings at home is actually very easy! The key ingredient to make them crispy is baking powder! I shared this in a blog post a few years ago and itâs always my go to!
These dill pickle chicken wings DO NOT disappoint. You could also do this with breasts or thighs!

Ingredients:
- 4 lbs chicken wings
- 4 cups dill pickle juice/brine (from empty pickle jar)
- 5 tsp baking powder (not baking soda!)
- 2 tsp dried dill
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- â¨3/4 tsp onion salt
- Avocado spray
Instructions:
- Place chicken in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour pickle juice over the top and try to get all chicken submerged. Cover and refrigerate for 1-4 hours. Remove from fridge, drain and pat dry.
- Add your chicken to a ziploc bag and add the baking powder, dried dill, onion salt and garlic powder. Toss well to combine.
- Place wings on a pan with a wire rack (this is important!). Spray with oil and bake at 425° for 50-60 min or until crispy making sure to flip half way through. You could also grill these or airfry at 400° for 40 min and flip half way through. Grilling will take less time!
- Once they are done serve with ranch dressing or I like to make my own dill pickle ranch for these! (See notes for recipe!)
