It’s a classic St. Patty’s Day dish and one of my favorites to make! I’ve gotten questions how to cook corned beef and having it be juicy and falling apart. My crockpot recipe is super easy! Just a little patience and a little time and you’ve got perfect corned beef!

Let’s get started!

Corned Beef and Cabbage

Print Recipe
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 10 hours hrs
Total Time 10 hours hrs 5 minutes mins
Servings: 4
Course: dinner, lunch, Main Course
Cuisine: American
Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • 1 corned beef I usually get one that’s 2-3 pounds
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 Tbsp pickling spices if available!
  • 1 Tbsp each of salt pepper, garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/2 head chopped cabbage
  • 5-6 diced red potatoes

Method

  1. Place your corned beef in the bottom of your crockpot. Season with all of the spices then add the water. Cook on low for 9-10 hours. The key to good corned beef is low and slow! I like to cook mine for the full 10!
  2. 2.5 hours before done add in your cabbage and potatoes and let continue to cook.
  3. Shred the beef and serve!
    Enjoy!

#ad Last year‘s backyard project was one of my fav #ad Last year‘s backyard project was one of my favorite outdoor projects, but the only thing that was missing was the space around my greenhouse, which was lacking appeal. You all know that I live in the middle of nowhere so getting material to me is quite difficult, but I was able to order everything for this project online through @truevalue. From the weed barrier, to the rubber mulch, wood sealer, and this cute bench, this project took me an afternoon to complete and it looks so much better! If you haven’t yet checked out true value for all of your outdoor needs, they have so much to offer, especially online! #TrueValuePartner
