Have you ever been to a deli downtown Philly or a Wawa? I can still taste the Italian hoagie I would order and my mouth craves for it! I love a good hoagie and I made this classic sandwich into a chopped salad!

Italian Hoagie Chopped Salad

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • FOR THE DRESSING
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • FOR THE SALAD
  • 1/2 head of iceberg lettuce or mixed greens chopped
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 red onion sliced or chopped
  • 1/2 cucumber diced
  • 1/3 cup banana peppers chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped deli meat of choice I used salami, pepperoni and turkey
  • Sliced provolone chopped

Method
 

  1. In a jar, combine dressing ingredients and mix well. Set aside.
  2. In a salad/ serving bowl add the remaining ingredients. Pour the dressing on top and mix well. Serve immediately!
