Skillet Shepherd’s Pie

This one takes me back to the days when I cooked with my grandma. She was a gem and one heck of a cook! We would race to see who could peel potatoes the fastest and she would tell me all kinds of stories. Shepherds pie is a family favorite and this one is super easy!

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onions carrots and crlery
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 Tbs flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Method
 

  1. If you can, use an oven safe pan and add in the ground beef, celery, onions and carrots and cook on low until fully cooked. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder and Italian herbs. Mix in the flour and stir well.
  2. Slowly add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, let simmer and thicken (about 5-10 minutes.
  3. Once the broth is thick, top with the mashed potatoes and spread evenly. *** I made my mashed potatoes in advance, prepare how you like!
  4. Place pan in oven at 350° for 20 minutes. Carefully take out add the cheese on top and then let it boil on high for 2–3 minutes. Take it out and top with parsley.
    Enjoy!
