Vanilla Latte

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 C strong coffee
  • 1 C milk
  • 1 T vanilla syrup (or more) (see below for recipe)
  • whipped cream (optional)

Method
 

  1. First make your vanilla simple syrup. You can always just buy the pre-made syrup in the coffee section at the grocery store, but what’s the fun in that?! Combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar and heat, let the sugar melt then add in 3 T vanilla extract (I used Trader Joe’s vanilla bean paste!) mix well, remove from heat and let cool. Store in a jar.
    2. In a pot combine milk and 1 T vanilla syrup. You can always add more syrup if you want it sweeter! Let it heat up but not boil! Once the milk is hot, froth it really good!
    3. Pour your coffee into your favorite mug and pour the milk mixture on top.
    4. Enjoy!

    Notes

    Place the syrup in an airtight container and it will last for 3 weeks in the fridge.
    Decaf is also an option if you can’t have regular coffee!
