Sourdough Pizza

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup starter
  • 3 1/2-4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 T olive oil

Method
 

  1. In the morning, add all of the ingredients together and mix well. I like to start with the water and start first and then I add in the oil, flour and salt. Mix well, your dough will be shaggy. Place in a bowl with a towel over top and let sit for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, stretch your dough. I like to do this at least 2 times, every 30 minutes and then shape it and let it rise in the bowl covered with a towel for 6-8 hours.
  2. Preheat the oven to 500° . I use a pizza stone and like to also get that hot in the over. Once a pizza stone is hot a roll out and then shape the dough, then place onto the pizza stone. Add toppings and bake for 7-10 min.
  3. It should be nice and bubbly, take it out and serve it with your favorite side salad.

    Notes:

    I made an amazing side salad to go with our pizza with a homemade dressing. This is a Mediterranean style salad. 
    1/2 tsp Red Wine Vinegar 1-2 squeezes Honey 1/2 tsp Italian herbs 1 tsp Grain mustard (just a squeeze) Coarse Salt Pepper 2 tsp Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup Olive oil.
    Blend all of the ingredients well. For the salad I do a spring mix with chopped olives, chopped banana pepper rings, chopped cucumber, long slices of Parmesan, pepper and breadcrumbs. Pour the dressing on and mix and serve!
