Pumpkin Spice Syrup

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup pumpkin puree fresh or canned not pumpkin pie filling
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup white granulated sugar

Method
 

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the pumpkin puree, ground cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves, water and sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally to make sure the sugar dissolves and pumpkin puree is blended in.
  2. Remove from heat. Pour through a fine mesh strainer and into an airtight container like a glass jar or bottle. The strainer will help remove any sediments from the pumpkin spice simple syrup, if needed.
  3. Let cool then seal and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
