Servings: 4 people
Course: dinner
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 3.5 lbs country style pork ribsbone-in or boneless
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce your favorite brand

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Pat the country style ribs dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Generously season the ribs on all sides with the dry rub mixture, pressing it into the meat to help it adhere.
  4. Arrange the seasoned ribs in a single layer in a large baking dish. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 2 hours.
  5. Carefully remove the foil from the baking dish. Drain any excess liquid. Brush the ribs generously with BBQ sauce.
  6. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, and bake for 20-30 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.
  7. Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to settle, ensuring a tender bite.
