Homemade Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with Strawberry Shortcake Crunch

Ingredients
  

  • Ice cream base
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean or 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Dash of salt
  • Strawberry Crunch
  • 1 oz dried strawberries
  • 28 golden Oreos I used thin ones
  • 6 T melted butter

Method
 

  1. Place your ice cream tub in the freezer - this has to be cold to start the process
  2. Combine the ice cream base ingredients in a bowl
  3. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved
  4. Add combined ingredients to your ice cream machine and turn it on
  5. Let it churn for about 25 minutes
  6. When it is done, it will be a SoftServe texture, I like to put mine in the freezer for a bit to let it firm up
  7. For the Strawberry shortcake crumble: Combine all ingredients above and pulse in a food processor or blender
  8. Add it to the top of your vanilla bean ice cream
