My mom surprised me this past Christmas with a kitchen aid food processor and I’ve found every reason to use it every single day.

I love making hummus and it’s super easy to make in the blender as well but, I got a food processor so here’s my excuse to use it!

Let’s get started!

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Print Recipe
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 30 minutes mins
Total Time 35 minutes mins
Servings: 4
Course: Appetizer, dip, side
Cuisine: American
Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers
  • 1-2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Method

  1. Add chickpeas, tahini, roasted red peppers, garlic, salt, and lemon juice to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, about 1 minute, stopping once to scrape the sides of the bowl.
  2. With the blender or food processor running, add the olive oil in a steady stream. Blend for about 1 minute longer, until very smooth.
  3. If the hummus is quite thick, you can add a little cool water, a teaspoonful at a time, to thin it.
  4. Cover and chill the hummus for at least 30 minutes. If desired, drizzle with olive oil and top with additional chopped roasted red peppers
  5. before serving. I like to add 21 seasoning salute on top of mine!
  6. Serve with pita chips. You can keep the hummus in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.

    Notes

This is such a good and easy dip you can make for party or just to have around for the week to snack on! Chickpeas have protein too, so that helps throughout the day! I love to eat with pita chips or veggies!

#ad Last year‘s backyard project was one of my fav #ad Last year‘s backyard project was one of my favorite outdoor projects, but the only thing that was missing was the space around my greenhouse, which was lacking appeal. You all know that I live in the middle of nowhere so getting material to me is quite difficult, but I was able to order everything for this project online through @truevalue. From the weed barrier, to the rubber mulch, wood sealer, and this cute bench, this project took me an afternoon to complete and it looks so much better! If you haven’t yet checked out true value for all of your outdoor needs, they have so much to offer, especially online! #TrueValuePartner
