These easy and delicious Easy BLT Sandwiches are made with classic ingredients and come together in just minutes. They’re the perfect lunch for the whole family.

A BLT is what we like to call “an oldie but a goodie”, for good reason. It’s a classic sandwich that never goes out of style, but sometimes even the greats need an update. These Easy BLT Sandwiches are a tasty spin on the classic, filled with simple ingredients, familiar flavors and a satisfying crunch. With crispy lettuce, juicy tomatoes, creamy mayo and a vinegary kick, these BLTs hit all the right texture and flavor notes. Served in tortillas, open-faced on crusty bread, or between slices of soft white or wheat, BLTs have never tasted better!
Perfectly cooked, smokey bacon, tomatoes and lettuce, and zesty seasonings make these bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches a tastier, sassier version of the traditional. Our family really loves them with ripe summer tomatoes, but we like to make them year-round (because who can resist?!), for the ultimate quick and delicious meal.

How To Make Easy BLT Sandwiches
1. Get your bacon cookin’! And while it’s cooking, slice your tomato and then cut the slices in half. Add to a bowl and add the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Italian seasonings and salt & pepper. Give the tomatoes a toss and let marinate until bacon is done.

2. Drain the bacon grease and set aside. Place your mayo in a bowl and spoon in 2-3 spoonfuls of the juices from the tomatoes. Mix well.

3. Assemble your BLT on toast or soft shell tortillas with mayo, lettuce, bacon and tomatoes. That’s it! Eat Till It Hurts Friends!
Expert Tips
- Room Temperature Tomatoes: Always store tomatoes on the counter, not the fridge for the best texture and taste. Using room temperature tomatoes will give your wraps the best flavor.
- Salt The Tomatoes: Don’t skip this step, it’s worth it. Doing this helps to season the tomatoes and draw out excess moisture ahead of time, so your wraps are flavorful but not watery.
- Double The Bacon: For an extra indulgent BLT wrap, double up on the amount of bacon.
- Toasted Bread: Toast both sides of your bread for an extra sturdy sandwich. This will help hold the ingredients, and keep the structure.
- Use Sturdy Bread: Use hearty bread like thick-cut sourdough, a baguette, rustic white, or sliced ciabatta to avoid a soggy sandwich. Sturdy breads like this can handle the mayonnaise and dressed tomatoes.
Kitchen tip: One of my favorite organization hacks is to put my spices in reusable jars & label them! Shown in the image below. Amazon has a wide range of options, but these are my personal favorites.
Variations
The classic BLT is a winner, but here are a few delicious ways to change it up:
- Spicy BLT: Add sliced fresh or pickled jalapeños, or a dash of hot sauce into the mayo or dressing for a little heat.
- California BLT: Add ripe avocado slices or a mound of sprouts to give this sandwich extra fresh flavors.
- Breakfast BLT: Turn this into a morning wrap with a fried egg or scrambled eggs.
- Low-Carb BLT: Swap out bread or tortillas for lettuce wraps instead, for a lower carb option. They’re extra crunchy, and just as delicious.
- Open-Faced BLT: Serve this sandwich on a slice of thick toast, open-faced, with extra bacon, lettuce and tomato slices on the side.
What To Serve With a BLT Sandwich
The options are endless, but here are some recipes that my family loves to pair with them:
Storage
If you’ve got leftovers, we recommend taking the sandwich apart and separating the ingredients from the bread. Otherwise, you’ll end up with a soggy sandwich. Store each component in separate airtight containers in the fridge for 1-2 days, for maximum freshness and the best flavor and texture. Assemble on fresh toast or tortillas when you’re ready to serve again.
You can prep the components for this sandwich ahead of time and store in the fridge until you’re ready to assemble and serve. It’s a great time-saving meal!
We don’t recommend freezing these sandwiches, as the texture changes once frozen and thawed.
