As the crisp autumn air begins to settle in, nothing says “fall” quite like the warm, comforting flavors of pumpkin spice. Whether you’re a fan of lattes, pancakes, or even cocktails, a homemade pumpkin spice syrup is the perfect way to infuse that cozy autumn feeling into your favorite treats. Making your own syrup is surprisingly easy and allows you to customize the flavor to suit your taste. Plus, it makes for a thoughtful homemade gift!
In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the pumpkin puree, ground cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves, water and sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally to make sure the sugar dissolves and pumpkin puree is blended in.
Remove from heat. Pour through a fine mesh strainer and into an airtight container like a glass jar or bottle. The strainer will help remove any sediments from the pumpkin spice simple syrup, if needed.
Let cool then seal and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
