Have you ever been to a deli downtown Philly or a Wawa? I can still taste the Italian hoagie I would order and my mouth craves for it! I love a good hoagie and I made this classic sandwich into a chopped salad!
Let’s get started!
FOR THE DRESSING
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon Italian seasonings
1 teaspoon oregano
FOR THE SALAD
1/2 head of iceberg lettuce or mixed greens, chopped
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/4 red onion, sliced or chopped
1/2 cucumber, diced
1/3 cup banana peppers, chopped
1/2 cup chopped deli meat of choice (I used salami, pepperoni and turkey)
Sliced provolone, chopped
1. In a jar, combine dressing ingredients and mix well. Set aside.
2. In a salad/ serving bowl add the remaining ingredients. Pour the dressing on top and mix well. Serve immediately!
