Growing up, my mom and my grandma both had little potpourri pots on the stove that they would fill with fresh ingredients and spices, a little water, and let it simmer all day. The smell brings me back to my childhood and all the wonderful memories around Christmas time.
You can do this either in a pot on your stove or in a crockpot!
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 Apple, sliced
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- Pine or spruce stems
- 2 cups of Water
- If you don’t have pine or spruce available, add rosemary sprigs. Also cranberries and whole cloves make a great addition!
- Place your pot on the stove or set your crockpot out. Fill with water, half of the apple and orange, cinnamon sticks, and green stems. Let simmer and add water as needed.
- You’ll have enough ingredients left over to make another pot a few days later! Store all ingredients in a ziploc bag in the fridge for later use.
